HIS POV  (Flash back start)

The hum of the plane's engine was a steady background noise as I settled into my seat, exhausted from the Mumbai heat.

I was looking forward to a few hours of rest before landing in Delhi.

Glancing to my right, I noticed the girl seated beside me.

She was wearing a bukaq, her face partially concealed, but her eyes?

They were unmistakably fixed me.

For a moment, I hesitated.

As we settled into our seats, She was beside me, attempting to strike up a conversation.

Truthfully, I was captivated by her eyes,  there was something magnetic about her gaze, but I wasn't about to let her know that.

Yet, I chose to play it cool, focusing instead on the mountain of snacks I had brought along.

I shoved another handful of snacks into my mouth, making the kind of strange noises that made me cringe internally.

Kya kar raha hoon? I thought, wondering if I could at least respond to her in my usual cold manner instead of this ridiculousness.

But I chose to wallow in my own awkwardness.

The plane hit turbulence, and I felt a jolt that sent my stomach into a flip. I caught her eye, and my mouth moved before I could think.

"Pagal ladki, mere khane mein nazar kyun rakhi hai?" I shot at her, half-teasing, half-serious.

Her smirked, unfazed.

"Why do you act as though you're starving yourself?" Her tone was playful, but there was a sharpness in her words that caught me off guard.

I quickly retorted, "Terse mtlb udhar dekh."

I pointed dramatically out the window, hoping to deflect the attention from my embarrassing munching.

-----------------

Later, she tried to use the restroom, I was sprawled across my seat, blissfully unaware of her struggles.

The turbulence had lulled me into a deep sleep, but it didn't last long. I sensed movement beside me and cracked one eye open, just in time to see her attempting to sneak past me.

"Not so fast!" I said, half groggy but feeling mischievous.

Without thinking, I swiped her window seat and settled in, a smug smile creeping onto my face.

"I also want to see down from the plane."

She halted in her tracks, eyes wide with disbelief.

"Seriously? You think you can just take my seat?"

With a playful tilt of my head, I shrugged.

"I didn't see your name on it."

She crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes at me.

"Chup chap, wapis seat pe aa warna..."

I raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by her frustration.

"Warna kya? You'll punch me again?"

Her expression shifted, a mixture of annoyance and humor.

"Maybe I will."

"Bring it on," I challenged, reveling in the playful standoff.

But beneath it all, I could see her smile creeping through, despite her best efforts to maintain her irritation.

"Seriously, do you have to act like such a child?" She teased, even though a part of me enjoyed the back-and-forth.

She rolled her eyes,

"You're impossible," she declared, shaking her head as if she were scolding a child.

"Impossible? Nah, just a little creative with seating arrangements," I replied, leaning back in her seat with exaggerated confidence.

"Creative, huh? More like annoying," she shot back, a playful glare in her eyes.

"You know, if I had known you were this stubborn, I might have chosen a different seat."

"Too late now, Jaan" I grinned, refusing to budge.

'fuckk yeh kya bol dia irfaz hoped she won't mind my words'

---------------

As the plane began its descent, I shifted slightly, glancing at her.

To my surprise, she had dozed off beside me, her head resting on my shoulder, and my pillow cradled in her arms as if it were a treasured possession.

I chuckled quietly, trying to suppress the urge to tease her about her unexpected nap.

But as I sat there, the temptation to reclaim my pillow grew. I gently tugged at it, attempting to pull it back without waking her.

Just as I felt it start to slide free, she stirred, blinking groggily as she came to.

In my haste to retrieve the pillow, I miscalculated, and it ended up hovering right over her face.

"Uh-oh," I thought, my eyes widening as I realized the pillow was now smothering her instead of freeing her.

"Sorry!" I blurted out, yanking it away, but not before she let out a startled gasp.

"What the......?" she exclaimed, eyes wide as she realized I had just attempted to smother her with a pillow. "Are you trying to suffocate me?"

I burst into laughter, the absurdity of the situation hitting me all at once.

"I swear, I didn't mean to! It was a rescue mission gone wrong."

She retaliated without warning, punching me squarely in the arm again.

My mouth was already bleeding from the last hit, and I growled in pain, the sting shooting through my jaw.

"Fuckk," I muttered, trying to compose myself. "Oh, calm down! I'm just supporting your neck."

"Right, because a pillow fight is the best way to support someone's neck," she shot back, her eyes narrowing with mock seriousness.

"Tu marna cha rha tha mujhe pillow se suffocate krwa ke!"

I couldn't help but laugh even harder at her fierce indignation.

"Hey, I'm a multi-talented guy who knew I could double as a neck supporter and a pillow assassin?"

"Assassin, huh? You're more like a clumsy fool," she retorted, crossing her arms.

"Hey, I take pride in my ideas!" I protested, raising my hands in mock surrender.

"Maybe we should start a new trend: extreme pillow rescue missions."

"Dream on," she scoffed.

"Main teri qatal na kar du rescue ki jagah,  6-foot ka bandar! Acha khasa ucha lamba, harkatein karta bandar jise, na khane ki tameez, na baithne ki. aya bada 'pride in your ideas', bhaag!"

"Ohh please kabhi dekhi h itna handsome Bandar mere jaisa? or waise bhi tum jaise bandri kaise smjhega meri Genius brain ko?"

"Genius? More like a joke!" she laughed, shaking her head.

"You know what? I should start a NGO to support group for the victims of your brilliant ideas."

I feigned horror, clutching my heart dramatically.

"Victims? How dare you! I'm just trying to make the world a more exciting place"

"You mean chaotic? Next, you'll be telling me to start a dance party with pillows as our only props," she shot back.

I grinned, suddenly inspired.

"Why not? We could go viral! 'Pillow Dance Party: Join the Fluff Revolution!'"

"mein zeher kha ke marna na psnd kru? tumhare bkwas ideas ke krn viral hone se acha" she replied.

Before I could fully grasp what was happening, the flight attendants swooped in, sensing the commotion.

"Is everything alright here?" one of them asked, a mix of concern and amusement in her voice.

"She was just about to take me out with a pillow!" I exclaimed, trying to keep a straight face.

"Pillow fight or not, we can't have that kind of chaos on the flight!" the other attendant chimed in, stifling a laugh.

"Let's keep the peace, folks."

This Black Ninja Turtle beside me rolled her eyes, smirking as she added,

"Yeah, yeah, let's save the wrestling for the ground, shall we?"

This Black Ninja Turtle who had been my annoying seatmate was now a source of entertainment for everyone else on the flight.

"Okay, you two," one of them said, suppressing a grin.

"Let's keep the peace. You'll have to sit together for the rest of the flight."

I shot her a bewildered look, and she shrugged, a mischievous smile spreading across her face.

As we resumed our awkward seating arrangement, I couldn't help but feel the tension shift. I was still reeling from the punch, but now, there was a strange energy crackling between us.

----------------

We fell silent after the flight attendant's scolding, and I thought to myself,

'Irfaz, yeh kya tha? Bache ki tarah kyun lad raha tha is ninja turtle ke saath, woh bhi stranger?

Aur tu iske saath bakwas karne laga, kaha gaya tera cold demeanor jo itne saal se tune build kiya tha?

Aaj tak toh aisa nahi hua, kabhi aaj kya hogya?

I've never felt like arguing and teasing with others before.

Maybe she didn't recognize me, or she just wanted to play it cool.'

........

As I was lost in thought, I began to feel sleepy and dozed off. When I woke up to the announcement for our landing, I found her sleeping on my shoulder.

The flight attendants and a few passengers were whispering and complimenting us.

Bullshit, I'm never gonna meet her again in my life, I thought, and then I gently nudged her.

"Oi, seat belts laga lo," I said.

She hummed, "Hmm," still half-asleep.

I took her belt and attached it for her.

'Uff, Irfaz, kya kya karna padega,'

I thought as I adjusted her head and neck to straighten her up.

She stirred awake and shot me a look.

"Ab kya gala daba ke marne ka irada hai?" she accused me again.

"I was just supporting your neck," I replied defensively. "You were struggling to put on your seatbelt, and I was just trying to assist you."

" why the hell then, tera hath mere gale mein kya kr rha  tha?" she asked.

"I wasn't trying to freak you out. Just wanted to make sure you were safe." i said

"Safe? With you? I think I'd rather take my chances with the seatbelt!" she said.
